ABOUT US - Backgound & Committee

The Geneva Irish Association was established in 1975 as a non-political, non-profit making organisation with the main aim to provide a focal point in Geneva for all who are Irish or friends of Ireland.  Moreover, it is also a showcase for promoting Irish social and cultural activities and encouraging an understanding throughout Switzerland of Irish culture and everything Irish. Membership is on a voluntary basis and funds generated through fees are used to benefit the Association at large.

Structure
In accordance with the GIA Statutes, a
committee is elected by the members of the Association at the Annual General Meeting every year.

Activities
Throughout the year many varied events are organised which - it is hoped - appeal to everyone and will bring Irish people and their friends together for a bit of culture, "craic" and fun.  If you take a look at our
Upcoming Events section you can see the type of events we organise and the dates on which our next events will take place.  We are always open to suggestions so should you have any ideas about alternative events, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Publications
The Association issues a bi-monthly
newsletter which provides details of upcoming and past events.
